Sanandaj, June 1 - "We shouldn't think the whole world is only one country," said Mahmoud Ahmadinezhad, one of the eight candidates in the upcoming presidential election, regarding Iran-US relations on Wednesday.
"Despite a 25-year-old cut in relations with US, the Iranian people are standing on their feet so that we are now a political and cultural superpower in the world," he added.
"The Americans want to get the same result from imposing relations that they did not get from cutting them, while establishing relations does not guarantee the rights of nations," said Ahmadinezhad.
Some simple-minded people believe that all problems will be solved by establishing relations with the US, while this country never has never cut off its relations with Iraq despite invading it," he added.
"Our people will build the country without needing America and will be among the most advanced nations," he said.
