Tehran's interim Friday Prayer Leader, Ayatollah Emami Kashani, has reiterated that Iran would not compromise on its legitimate right of gaining access to peaceful nuclear technology.
Addressing worshipers at Tehran University campus, Ayatollah Kashani said: "Global Arrogance knows yesterday's and today's Iran. What frightens the domineering powers is Iran's scientific progress, its power and determination, and Iran's becoming an example for Islamic awareness.
Ayatollah Kashani said western media attempts to direct the public opinion towards Iran's alleged intention of manufacturing nuclear weapons. This is while our logic and religion prohibit us from producing and using such weapons.
Tehran's interim Friday prayer leader then pointed to the recent statements of French President, Jacques Chirac, about threatening to use nuclear weapons, saying such a threat and the reaction of Chirac's allies, has unveiled the foul intentions of the nuclear powers in the world.
Ayatollah Kashani said Iran's powerful logic has aggravated its enemies to the extent that they planned the recent bomb blasts in Iran's southern city of Ahwaz.
Ayatollah Kashani also hailed the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) over its victory in Palestine's parliamentary elections, and described as a sign of awareness of the Islamic nation. He then urged Palestinian groups to maintain their unity and solidarity.
